Easy BBQ Chicken Naan Pizza Recipe

This past weekend was crazy 🙂 I mean absolutely nuts. From Friday until Sunday we had plans everyday and evening. This makes getting any kind of meal on the table impossible. Not to mention if you want it to be a healthy meal for your family. A couple of years ago I was in Aldi’s (love that store) and I discovered Naan bread. This bread is great to make any kind of pizza 🙂 Which I happen to love. Today’s recipe is using Naan bread. It is an easy BBQ chicken naan pizza recipe.

First my very hectic weekend.  We started the weekend off with the local county fair.  It was demo derby night and my boys love this event.  When my oldest was younger the demo would result in us playing demo derby at home with matchbox cars for a week later.

Saturday was a very special day.  One of my closest friends daughter’s had her bachelorette party.  I am actually close to both of them so it was a very fun and special afternoon.  Notice the matching shirts.  🙂  Everybody had matching shirts for the day.  And notice the bags under my eyes.  Ugh, my youngest has decided that bedtime is 11 and then wakes up at 3 for a hour and half to snuggle.  Child you are slowly turning your mamma into a zombie, lol.

Now that we are caught up with the weekend let’s get back to the recipe.

Easy BBQ Chicken Naan Pizza Recipe

The recipe has three ingredients.  Yes three!  Now you can add different ingredients if you want but I was in a time crunch.  Best of all I make two pizzas, so if you have a picky eater or everybody doesn’t like the same ingredients then you can make it different on each pizza.  I am going to share the basis of the pizza and you can add toppings as you like.  Usually I add sweet onions, green peppers and cherry tomatoes.  But I didn’t have most of these ingredients and I was in a hurry.

Naan bread is super cheap too at Aldi’s.  Which makes this recipe a super cheap dinner for a family of five.

The easiest way to make the BBQ chicken is to put it in a slow cooker.  It makes the chicken tender and easy to shred for your pizza.  Also, if you are in a time crunch I put frozen, skinless chicken breast topped with 2 cups of BBQ sauce in the slow cooker on low before work and let them cook all day.  So when I get home the only thing that is left is to assemble the pizza and heat it up in the oven.  If the chicken doesn’t have the BBQ taste that you like you can always add more then.

Remember it’s going in the oven so it will heat up once it is in there.

Start with your naan bread. (I am only going to show you one but this recipe makes two)

Spread BBQ chicken on the naan bread.  Like I said earlier I cook  mine in a slow cooker and slowly pull the chicken apart to shred it even more for this recipe.

Then add your cheese.  I use a colby mix for this recipe.

Bake at 400 for 15 minutes.  Or until the cheese is completely melted.  I like the pizza crunchy so I leave it in a little longer than necessary.

Seriously I want to reach through the screen now and eat it.  What is also great about this recipe is that it is yummy cold.  Urban takes the leftovers (I always make extra for this reason) in his lunch the next day.

And a tip from Urban, if you do want it heated up and you don’t have a microwave.  Put it in the window of your vehicle for 10 minutes and it will slowly heat up 🙂  Seriously, love this guy.  Who does that?  The things they do on construction sites!

Easy BBQ Chicken Naan Pizza Recipe

An easy naan pizza recipe that can be on the table in under thirty minutes.  

Servings: 8
Ingredients
  • 2 nann breads
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 4 pieces skinless, boneless chicken breast
  • 3 cups shredded cheese
Instructions
Cook the Chicken
  1. Place the 4 pieces of chicken into a slow cooker on low with 2 cups of BBQ sauce and cook for 8 hours.

  2. Assemble the pizza.  Start with your naan bread and top with the BBQ chicken and cheese.


Recipe Notes

There is many variations of this recipe.  I am giving you the basis of the recipe and you can top with any ingredients that you want.  My favorites are green peppers, sweet onions and cherry tomatoes.

This is one of my go to recipes when I am in a time crunch but still want it to look like I put effort into supper.
